Yeshayahu Twenty-Two:Fleeing the City

This chapter goes into detail about the destruction of Jerusalem. I’ve been missing Israel a lot lately, so it’s doubly sad to read about the ruination of city. “Full of clamor, a tumultuous city, a happy city, your fallen have not fallen by the sword, nor have they died in war (Isaiah 22:2).” The city is ruined because the people ran away from it at the time of its greatest need. The destruction of Jerusalem has shaped the Jewish people for the last 2000 years. It’s sad to continuously read about it every day, and I honestly don’t have much more to say about it at this point.
