“Many waters cannot quench the love, nor can rivers flood it; should a man give all the property of his house for love, they would despise him (Song of Songs 8:7).” This verse seems to emphasize the balance that love requires. While true love can’t be washed away easily, you also can’t get too caught up in it, lest you alienate everyone else. You can’t be happy all the time, nor can you fight, and expect it to be healthy. It’s all about finding the happy medium in all of your relationships and working to maintain that balance.
Tomorrow we start the next book – Ruth! I loved Song of Songs. The content was beautiful, and the book wasn’t too long, so it didn’t get tired. I’m happy to have had the chance to read it in full, and am looking forward to the next book. 798 chapters down (!!), 131 to go!
