About The Project

Welcome to Exploring Torah!

Exploring Torah is a project inspired by 929, a new initiative in which one chapter of the Tanakh [the Jewish bible] is studied every day. This initiative officially begins on December 21, 2014, and aims to use the Daf Yomi model of Talmud study, in which one page of Talmud is studied every day for seven years, to study the whole Tanakh together with Jews around the world.

I’m choosing to take on the challenge of studying one chapter of Torah every day for the next 3 1/4 years. There are parts that I’ve studied before, parts that I’ve heard about but haven’t looked at personally, and parts that are totally unfamiliar to me that I’m eager to check out. Through this blog, I’m inviting you to come with me on this journey! I’ll be updating as I read, and will be sharing my thoughts, insights, and questions with you every step of the way.

For more information about 929, check out this article in The Jerusalem Post!

For any Hebrew speakers out there, here’s the official 929 website!

If you’re interested in getting in touch with me, please feel free to reach out via the contact form below. I’m happy to chat about Torah, Jewish Education, Project 929, or whatever you’re interested in. If you’re interested in hevruta-ing with me for a certain chapter or book, please note that in your message. I’d love to study with you!
